After its introduction at the '97 Düsseldorf Boat Show, the Novara 44R has caught the eye of many sailors with its unique fighter-style cockpit canopy and its razor-sharp hulls. Dr. Martin Mai developed this cruising cat to be light and rigid, and to come as close as possible to an ideal racer.

Michigan Gold Coast 100 Race

Eighteen boats took their places at the starting line in this inaugural race on Lake Michigan. They were divided into two classes of spinnaker and non-spinnaker. The top three finishers in each class went home with a trophy and a framed poster of South Haven, MI.

Australia's Annual Seawind Regatta

The Regatta consisted of two races held within the confines of Pittwater and Broken Bay in the northern area of Sydney. There were 23 excited contestants at the start line for the morning race. After the race, the sailors retreated to a large tent where they could eat and drink while the awards were presented.

The Bol'd'Or

Once again, Harvey and crew Alistair Wood are racing on the trusty Firebird Orion. Only this time, they brought along Switzerland delegate Urs Richli. He wasn't used to being in the front of the pack, so this was a real treat. Light airs caused a slow race, but the smallest multihull entered still finished 10th.
