The Tri-X-5... A Mini Formula-40?

With the need for speed, Andy Vavolotis has built five trimarans in five years. His goal is to develop the fastest, single-handed trimaran, by breaking 25 knots. Two of the key design points of the Tri-X-5 are the pivoting hiking bench and the fact that the two amas are longer than the main hull; allowing him to fly two hulls at the same time.

The Scarab 670 – A Folding Trimaran
Ray Kendrick designed this 22' tri to use a standard Hobie 18 rig. Normally the beam measures 18'6", but folded it’s a mere 8'2".
