SIX GIANTS FOR CHRISTMAS IN BARCELONA !

The die is cast, there will be finally six in Barcelona for the start of The

Race. The 6 biggest racing catamarans in the world have all arrived and are

lined up alongside one another in front of the official village of The Race.

3Reality seems to exceed fiction2 said Bruno Peyron. 3You can really get the

measure of this reality by being here, by looking at and being able to touch

these giant boats, witnesses of a new generation2.

This Tuesday is still a public holiday here in Barcelona where the town

awoke this morning to brilliant sunshine. The Barcelona crowds have taken

over the quays of the official village where the 6 giants of The Race are

lazing in the sun awaiting the great start. Most of the crew having managed

to get a day off, only the technicians of the boats were still working,

making final adjustments. On PlayStation, they took advantage to dismantle

the boom and change some battens; On Club Med, they finished installing the

systems for the transmission of images, while on board Innovation Explorer,

they finished splicing the foresail sheets.

Programme for the days to come:

Friday 29th December at 1900 : grand parade of The Race (presentation of the

boats)

Saturday 30th December at 1030 : presentation of the crews
